Privacy Policy
This site is a personal portfolio. It exists to show my work and let people reach me, not to collect data about you.
Who is responsible
This website (over-engineer.com) is owned and operated by Konstantinos Pappas, based in Athens, Greece. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected].
What I collect
I do not ask you to create an account, fill in a form, or hand over personal information to browse this site.
If you email me, I receive whatever you put in that email — your address, your name if you sign it, and the content of your message. I keep it in my mailbox for as long as the conversation is useful and I do not add it to any mailing list.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own, and does not build a profile of you across sites.
For visitor statistics I run a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-free tool. It records aggregate page views, referrers and rough country-level location, with no cookies and no cross-site tracking, and it cannot identify individual visitors. Because the instance is hosted on my own infrastructure, that data is never shared with a third-party analytics provider.
Embedded and third-party content
Some pages embed or link to services I do not control — YouTube videos, GitHub repositories, the WordPress.org plugin directory, npm, LinkedIn, Stack Overflow, and the App Store and Google Play listings for my apps.
When a page embeds third-party content, that provider can see the request your browser makes to load it, including your IP address. Video embeds on this site use YouTube’s no-cookie domain, which limits what is stored before you press play. Once you follow an outbound link, that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Technology icons and web fonts are served from this site’s own domain rather than a public CDN, so loading them tells no third party that you were here.
Hosting and server logs
Like nearly every website, the server that delivers these pages keeps short-lived technical logs — IP address, timestamp, requested file, user agent — used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse or errors. They are not used to identify you or combined with anything else.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data I hold about you, ask for a copy, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it is handled. In practice the only personal data I am likely to hold is an email conversation you started.
Send any such request to [email protected] and I will respond within the time limits set by law. You also have the right to complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.
Children
This site is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
